How to Plan a VR Birthday Party in Markham: A Parent’s Checklist

Planning a kids’ VR birthday party in Markham? Get a practical checklist covering players, games, food, timing and booking at VR Escapism.

Planning a birthday party means balancing what your child wants with the details that make the day run smoothly. Who should you invite? Will everyone enjoy the activity? Where will you serve the cake?

A VR birthday party combines a shared gaming experience with space to celebrate afterward. If you’re considering VR Escapism in Markham and Newmarket, this checklist will help you plan your party without overcomplicating it.

1. Start With Your Guest List

Make a list of the children who will play, along with their ages. Keep non-playing parents and other guests separate so you can explain your group clearly when asking about availability.

VR Escapism’s birthday packages include up to 12 players. Groups larger than 12 can inquire about a customized arrangement.

The number of players who can participate together depends on the game. VR Arena can accommodate up to 12 players in one room, while VR escape games accommodate up to seven players per room, with two rooms able to run at the same time.

Share your expected headcount before booking so the team can confirm a suitable plan.

2. Choose Games Around Your Child’s Interests

Does your child enjoy quick challenges and friendly competition, or would they rather solve puzzles with friends?

VR Arena offers multiplayer mini games for groups who enjoy variety and active teamwork.

VR escape games focus on exploring a virtual setting, discovering clues and solving challenges together.

You don’t need to know every game before sending an inquiry. Tell the team about the players’ ages, interests and previous VR experience. Ask them to confirm suitable games and any age or participation requirements, particularly for younger guests.

3. Pick the Right Party Length

VR Escapism offers two birthday packages at the same prices in Markham and Newmarket:

  • Classic — $400 + tax: A two-hour party with one VR session and party area use.

  • Premium — $750 + tax: A three-hour party with two VR sessions, a food break and celebration time.

Both packages include up to 12 players. Each one-hour VR session includes headset fitting, instructions and setup, with approximately 45 minutes of gameplay.

Choose Classic for a shorter celebration with one gaming session. Premium gives the group a second round of VR during a longer party.

4. Plan Food and Cake Separately

Food, drinks and cake are not included in the packages, but you’re welcome to bring your own.

Before the day, decide what you’ll serve and check what supplies you need to bring. Confirm your party area arrangement with the team.

A fridge is available for cake storage, but there is no freezer. Keep this in mind when choosing a cake that needs to stay frozen.

5. Send Guests Clear Arrival Instructions

Guests may arrive up to 15 minutes before the booked start time to prepare. Include the correct location, arrival time and party end time on your invitation.

Ask players to wear socks: some game rooms require shoes to be removed. Check the waiver arrangements with the team before the party so you can share the instructions with parents.

6. Check Availability Before Sending Invitations

When you inquire, include your preferred location, date, time, package, player count and ages. A backup date or time can also help the team suggest alternatives.

A $50 deposit is required to secure your booking. Send an inquiry for availability, booking details and the applicable cancellation terms.
